The driveway was laid on Friday.
We experienced some issues getting the height right. Our understanding was that all the details were explained on the subdivision plans. Both the plumber, and site preparer got their levels right, but the concrete preparers had some issues. Initially they wanted to increase the height by 300mm. This would not only increase the driveway height, but also require the section heights to increase (to be flush with the driveway); extra clay and topsoil brought in (externally) – a lot more expense). A visit from the surveyor sorted this issue out.
Two weeks behind schedule it’s been completed.
The plan for the next two weeks is to open a service trench (right beside the driveway in the shared access lot) and extend the water connection from the existing meter location to each individual site. At the same time, Wapia Networks is arriving on Saturday or Monday to extend the power to each site and the sparky will run a conduit so new owners can request telephone cable.
At the same time the sparky has rewired the existing house, plumber is connecting the water and drainage (the same time as the service trench and doing the other job). Wall insulation has been booked, and then gib and get on with the house renovation for resale.
